Henning returns to Arsenal

Germany international Josephine Henning (27) has re-signed for English first-division side Arsenal. The London club announced the signing of the centre-back on Monday, after she had been without a club since the end of the season.

Henning’s sixth-month contract with Champions League winners Olympique Lyon expired at the end of June. Arsenal, England’s most successful women’s club, is where the Olympic gold medallist played her football from February to October 2016, before her move to France.

“I’m very happy about returning to Arsenal,” said Henning. “We want to win trophies here, and I’ll work hard to help the club achieve their goals.”
