U16 coach Wück names 22-man squad for UEFA tournament in Portugal

DFB coach Christian Wück has named his 22-man squad for the UEFA tournament in Portugal. There are just three players in the squad who were not involved in the La Manga training camp at the beginning of the year - Eric Majetschak (RB Leipzig), Julian Rieckmann (Werder Bremen) and Charles-Jesaja Herrmann (VfL Wolfsburg).

Goalkeeper Christian Früchtl of FC Bayern Munich, who was invited to the first team’s Doha training camp, has also been included. Up front, Christian Wück has put his trust in Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn and Kilian Ludewig of RB Leipzig. There are four players in total from the Saxony club, three from Bayer Leverkusen, and two from Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg. Alongside the 22 nominated players, there are 13 further players who are on call.

Wück and Dennis Lamby's team will meet in Frankfurt on the 31st January before flying out to Lisbon the following day. They will then travel to Monte Gordo near Faro to continue preparations until the 8th February. As part of the UEFA tournament, they face hosts Portugal on the 4th, France on the 6th and the Netherlands on the 8th - three tough challenges for the outfit. On the 8th, they will return to Germany.
