DFB to submit bid to host 2029 UEFA Women’s EUROs
The DFB will submit a bid to host the finals of the 2029 UEFA Women’s EUROs. The decision was made during a meeting of the DFB’s Presidential Board on Friday, 16th September, with the declaration of interest for the bid set to be submitted to UEFA by the deadline on 24th September 2024.
DFB President Bernd Neuendorf said: “Sustainable development in the areas of women in football and women’s football, as well as the implementation of the FF27 strategy, are a top priority for the DFB. Submitting a bid for the 2029 UEFA Women’s EUROs is a flagship project for us and gives an additional boost to these areas.”

DFB General Secretary Heike Ullrich: “We look forward to the bidding process with confidence, not least because of the inspiring UEFA EURO 2024, our exceptional stadium infrastructure and the great cooperation with our host cities and our local contacts, which have proven that we are a good and reliable host for such a major sporting event.”
UEFA’s list of requirements for interested applicants include at least one stadium with a total capacity of 50,000 seats, at least three stadiums with a total capacity of 30,000 seats and at least four stadiums with a total capacity of 20,000 seats. After the deadline for the declaration of interest passes on 24th September 2024, the DFB will contact the operators of the stadiums that meet UEFA’s requirements and their respective cities, inviting them to apply to the DFB as potential host cities.
Winning bid will be announced in December 2025
UEFA will share detailed requirements with all interested applicants by 1st October 2024. The applicants must submit the preliminary documents by 12th March 2025, with the deadline for the submission of the signed legal documents and additional application documents being on 28th August 2025.
The winning bid will be announced by UEFA’s Executive Committee in December 2025. The 2029 UEFA Women’s EUROs will be contested by 16 teams across 31 matchdays, with the tournament likely to take place in June and July 2029.
