Youth teams preparing for tournaments and friendlies

Twelve games in eight days: The DFB youth teams are using the international break to fit in a large amount friendlies. DFB.de has provided an overview of the youth team games between 11th and 18th November.

After their successful European Championship qualifying campaign, the under-21s will play two friendlies. Horst Hrubesch’s side will face the Netherlands in Ingolstadt on 13th November (18:00 CET), before travelling to Prague to take on the Czech Republic on 18th November (17:30 CET). Included in the squad are Max Meyer (FC Schalke 04), Marc-André ter-Stegen (FC Barcelona) and Emre Can (FC Liverpool).

Under-20s to play Switzerland in international round-robin

The under-20s have the third and fourth matchdays of their international round-robin coming up. After losing 1-0 to Italy and drawing 0-0 with Switzerland, they will be hoping to score their first goal in the return game against the Swiss in Potsdam. The game on 14th November will include a few Bundesliga players, such as Werder Bremen’s Davie Selke and will kick-off at 18:00. Frank Wormuth’s team will then play Poland in Stettin on 18th November.

The under-19s have included Timo Werner (VfB Stuttgart), Gianluca Gaudino (FC Bayern München), Jonathan Tah (Fortuna Düsseldorf) and Devante James Parker (1. FSV Mainz 05) in their squad, all of whom have played in the Bundesliga so far this season. Mahmoud Dahoud has also been included after playing twice in the Europa League for Borussia Mönchengladbach. The team will travel to Greece in order to take part in an invitational tournament and will play Spain on the 13th November, hosts Greece on 15th and then France on 17th, with all games kicking-off at 14:00 CET.

Under-18s to play in a friendly tournament in Turkey

The under-18s will also take part in a friendly tournament. The side, managed by head coach Guido Streichsbier and his new assistant Arne Friedrich, will play against the Netherlands (13th November, 12:00 CET), the Czech Republic (15th November, 14:00 CET) and Turkey (17th November, 12:00 CET). The under-16s will also play two games, both against the Czech Republic. The first game will be in Prague on 11th November (14:00 CET) before travelling to Slany two days later to play the same side at 11:00 CET.

Both the under-17s and the under-15s don’t have any games on the agenda. Nevertheless, both sides will undergo training courses. Christian Wück and his under-17 side will travel to Ruit between 10th and 14th November for theirs, whilst André Schubert and the under-15s will be in Kaiserau between 16th and 21st November.
