Only players who have featured in at least ten of the 16 international games this year and been on the pitch for more than half the game have been nominated. It means that in the 16 games that have taken place, of which one of those went to extra-time, a player has to have played at least 735 minutes of action.

The player with most amount of minutes on the pitch is once again Jonas Hector. He also had the most amount of game time in 2015. This year, he managed 1272 out of a possible 1470 minutes in his 15 international appearances. Thomas Müller also made 15 appearances in his 1215 minutes of action. Mario Götze was on the pitch for 906 minutes in his 14 games in a Germany shirt. Mesut Özil had 13 appearances to his name (1092 minutes), while Toni Kroos (1073) and Sami Khedira (862) both featured twelve times. Players with eleven games in 2016 include Manuel Neuer (1020), Joshua Kimmich (1005), Mats Hummels (930), Julian Draxler (850) and Benedikt Höwedes (740).
