London’s Wembley Stadium is celebrating its tenth anniversary by lighting up the famous arch in the colours of the teams that have played there since its reopening in 2007.
166 domestic, European and international men’s and women’s football teams have graced the Wembley turf in the last decade across a variety of competitions and friendlies. The Germany national team beat England 2-1 in the Three Lions’ first game at their newly built home stadium on 22nd August 2007. To mark the anniversary, and in a show of gratitude to all the teams, Wembley Stadium displayed each of the club or national colours on the 133-metre tall arch. The name and crests of the clubs were also shown on the outside of the stadium.
