VfB: Stevens to succeed Veh

Huub Stevens is back at Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart as manager and will succeed Armin Veh, who resigned on Monday. VfB confirmed the news today. 60-year-old Dutchman Stevens kept Stuttgart up at the end of last season, but he was then replaced by Veh.

Veh surprisingly resigned on Monday after only five months in charge of the team, who currently sit bottom of the league. “It’s a really difficult decision to make because the team has a special place in my heart,” said the manager, who led VfB to the title back in 2007, but this time round, they have only picked up nine points from twelve games and were also knocked out of the DFB Cup in the first round. “Ultimately, I had to make this decision because I am convinced that this is the right thing to do.”
