U.S. women's national team win 4-0 over rivals Germany

The United States women's national team topped Germany 4-0 in an international friendly match at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday night.

The guests had most of the early opportunities in this up-and-down affair, keeping the U.S. defenders busy. But Abby Wambach started the scoring after drawing and converting a penalty in the 29th minute. Six minutes later German keeper Nadine Angerer failed to control a header off a corner, Amy Rodriguez stepped in and passed to Heather O'Reilly, who sent it in from the far post.

The U.S. scored again in the 62nd minute, when the ageless Kristine Lilly was set up by Wambach, who added another goal in the 63rd minute.

The USA are ranked No. 1 according to the FIFA rankings and winners of the past two Olympic gold medals. Second-ranked Germany is the two-time defending World Cup champions.
