U20 Women face England in La Manga tournament

The Germany U20 women can look forward to a tough challenge on the Spanish coast today. Maren Meinert’s are taking part in a six-nation tournament in preparation for the U20 World Cup, due to take place from the 13th November to the 3rd December in Papua New Guinea.

They face England today (13:00 CET), before games against Norway (Friday, 15:30 CET) and Japan (Sunday, 18:00 CET). USA and Sweden are the other teams involved in the tournament. Here is the German starting XI against England: Pauels - Karl, Hartig, Wedemeyer, Brandenburg - Ehegötz, Knaak, Dieckmann, Sehan - Freigang, Schüller.

There are 22 players in the squad, including Bayer Leverkusen’s Rebecca Knaak, who has already been called up to the first team by Silvia Neid. In an interview with DFB-TV, Meinert called the La Manga tournament the "perfect started to the World Cup year."
