U17s: Fine-tuning ahead of European Championships

The squad is complete, now it is just a case of fine-tuning. Before the team fly out to Azerbaijan for the European Championships (5th to 21st May), they will complete a short training camp in Grünberg in Hessen. The camp is set to last just four days, and will give Meikel Schönweitz the chance to give his team some final instructions.

"We want to use the time we have in Germany to tweak a few things ahead of the EUROs," said Schönweitz. "We are all hugely excited ahead of the tournament in Azerbaijan. We want to test ourselves against the best teams Europe has to offer." The U17 squad will fly from Frankfurt to Baku on Sunday.

They will play all three of their group stage matches in the Azerbaijan capital. First up, they face Ukraine on the 5th May, before taking on Bosnia and Herzegovina just three days later. Their last group stage match, but hopefully not their final match of the tournament, is due to take place on May 11th against neighbours Austria.
