Coach Dieter Eilts has to plan without Juri Judt (SpVgg Greuther Fürth) and Torben Joneleit (AS Monaco), both having muscular problems. Mats Hummels and Stephan Fürstner of Bayern München have been called up in their place.
After beating Austria 5-2 on Friday it was an important step further towards the first qualifying encounter on September 7 in Northern Ireland. "The Czechs are preparin for the final tournament of the European Championships later this year. It's more an Under 23 they're fielding, so it will be a real skill assessment for us", Eilts said.
