Players who appeared in more than eight games during 2014 are available for selection, meaning that there are 14 on the shortlist. It’s going to be a tough choice as all of these players have been central to the success of the team throughout the year.

The list is headed by Dzsenifer Marozsan and Anja Mittag, both of whom played in all 13 games. Annike Krahn appeared in 12 games and a total of 1046 out of 1170 possible minutes – the highest amount. Simone Laudehr also played in 12 matches.

Josephine Henning, Lena Goeßling and Melanie Behringer played 10 times. Nadine Angerer and Bianca Schmidt featured in nine games. The list is completed by players who made eight appearances: Celia Sasic, Lira Alushi, Alex Popp, Nadine Keßler and Tabea Kemme.

The top goalscorer was Anja Mittag who scored eight times, closely followed by Celia Sasic and Dzsenifer Marozsan who each netted six times. Simone Laudehr scored five goals. Germany scored a total of 41 goals through 12 players, which showcases just how much of a team effort this year was.
