Novice Toni Kroos had one goal and one assist as Germany's U 21 side won 3-0 against Northern Ireland in an European Championships qualifier on Friday. Kroos, 18 year old midfielder from Bayern München, converted a free-kick after eleven minutes to give Germany an early lead.
After 38 minutes goalie Carson was unable to hold on a long-ranger by Kroos, Daniel Halfar took the ball and made the 2-0. Dennis Aogo added the third after 61 minutes.
Germany lead Group I and will secure top spot if they avoid defeat against Israel on Tuesday.
