The perfect way to top off a great year. Die Mannschaft will end 2017 as “Team of the year” as they end the year first in the FIFA World Rankings. The World Cup holders have a total of 1602 which sees them topple Brazil’s 1483 points in second place and European Championship holders Portugal with 1358 points. The rankings will be next updated on 18th January 2018.

Joachim Löw’s side had a flawless record in World Cup qualification, lifted the Confederations Cup trophy in Russia and are currently 21 consecutive games unbeaten. In 2017, Die Mannschaft played 15 games, winning eleven games and drawing four and follow Argentina (2016) and Belgium (2015) in holding the title.

There are no changes in the top 30 of the World Rankings. The highest climber of 2017 is Denmark who are now up to 12th in rankings and collected more points than any other side.
