Borussia Dortmund suffered a setback on matchday 21 in the race for a top spot in German Bundesliga as they lost 2-3 against Eintracht Frankfurt. Mainz beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 1-0 and remain unbeaten on home soil.
Bayern München catched up with leaders Bayer Leverkusen after winning 3-1 at reigning champions VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday, while Bayer were held to a 1-1 draw at VfL Bochum. Schalke 04 also lost points with a 0-0 at SC Freiburg.
Werder Bremen celebrated a 2-1 against Hertha BSC Berlin in the opener of round 21 of German Bundesliga on Friday. Berlin are still on the bottom of the table after the loss at Bremen.
