On round 25 of 2nd Bundesliga Arminia Bielefeld suffered a major setback in their race for promotion when they lost 0-1 against Karlsruher SC on Monday. Thanks to the three points Karlsruhe put a big gab between themselves and the relegation zone.
On Sunday, FC Augsburg, closest pursuer of league leaders 1. FC Kaiserslautern, won 3-0 against Paderborn to reduce the gap between the two teams by two points. Third-placed FC St. Pauli lost 1-2 at München, where hosts 1860 were reduced to ten players early in the game.
On Saturday first placed Kaiserslautern failed to grab their 17th win of the season by drawing 1-1 against 16th placed FSV Frankfurt. Energie Cottbus celebrated their first win at home since November 29th by beating Alemannia Aachen 3-1.
Fortuna Düsseldorf are still yet to lose a match on home soil. On Friday Fortuna tied their match against Greuther Fürth 0-0. Rot Weiss Ahlen have made an important step in their fight against relegation. They beat direct rivals Hansa Rostock 1-0 in an away game. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen won 2-0 against TuS Koblenz, who have fallen to the bottom of the table.
