Schweinsteiger back in team training

World Champion Bastian Schweinsteiger was back in team training with German record holders Bayern München today. The 30-year-old DFB-Team captain, who hasn’t taken part in a competitive game since the World Cup final on 13th July, came through his first session without any problems. During the upcoming international break, only ten players will be present at Säbener Straße.

Schweinsteiger worked with a ball for the first time at the end of October after ongoing problems with his patella tendon. Shortly after, Bayern manager Pep Guardiola indicated that Schweinsteiger’s rehabilitation would be over in a “short time”.
