Sasic voted "Player of the Match" against England

It was the perfect end to 2014 for Germany Women’s team as Silvia Neid’s side beat England 3-0 at London’s Wembley stadium. Striker Celia Sasic scored a brace to settle the game and also the fans’ vote.

After an own-goal scored by England’s Scott in the 6th minute, Sasic made it 2-0 in the 12th minute and settled the game shortly before half time with her second goal of the match to make it 3-0 (45’). The Germany team picked up their second win in three games after their perfect qualifying campaign for the World Cup in Canada (6th June to 5th July 2015).

After the win in London, the 26-year-old was back to winning ways. Celia Sasic was chosen as Player of the Match with around 42% of the vote. The striker from 1. FFC Frankfurt just beat VfL Wolfsburg’s Lena Goeßling, who picked up 39% of the vote. Annike Krahn from Paris St. Germain received 19% and was third.
