The German clubs have been given an interesting draw for the Champions League Round of 16. Bayern München will travel to Turin in the first leg, and Wolfsburg face Belgian champions KAA Gent. Both Bayern and Wolfsburg will play the second leg at home after having won their respective groups.
World champions Mesut Özil and Per Mertesacker will have to overcome Marc-André ter Stegen’s defending champions FC Barcelona, should they wish to reach the next round. Toni Kroos and Real Madrid will play AS Roma and DFB defender Antonio Rüdiger. Kevin Trapp and PSG have been drawn against Premier League strugglers FC Chelsea. All of this was decided by Javier Zanetti at the draw today in Nyon.
The first legs of the round of 16 will take place over the 16/17th and 23rd/24th February, and the second legs over the 8th/9th and 15th/16th March. The draw for the quarter finals will occur on the 18th March, and the semi final on the 15th April, both at 12:00 CET. The final will take place on the 28th May in the Giuseppe-Meazza stadium in Milan.
