World Cup winner Julian Draxler will be forced to undergo an operation following his injury to his right thigh in the game against FC Augsburg (1-0). The Schalke midfielder was diagnosed with a partial tear in his hamstring by DFB-Team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller Wohlfahrt and will be treated further in Stuttgart.
The 21-year-old was subbed off after less than a minute on Friday evening. Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt announced after the game that Draxler wouldn't feature again for the Royal Blues in 2014.
