Olympic Football Tournament draw to take place on 14th April

The draw for the Olympic Football Tournament will take place on 14th April in the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. The legendary arena will host both the men’s and women’s finals of the Olympic Football Tournaments on 19 and 20 August respectively With respect to the men's tournament, 16 teams will be split into four groups, whereas the women’s tournament will have twelve teams, that will be sorted into three groups. The draw will take place on 14th April from 15.30 CEST. As well as Rio, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus, Salvador and Sao Paulo will also host matches during the tournament.

15 out of the 16 teams have been decided for the men’s tournament. Germany qualified in June 2015, through being semi-finalists at the U21 European championships. It’s the first time Germany has qualified for the Olympics since 1988. The final team will be decided at the end of March, when Columbia play the USA.
