World cup winner Mesut Özil has won the PFA Player of the Month award. The Arsenal attacking-midfielder finished ahead of Manchester United’s Chris Smalling and Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
Özil himself said that he has so far played "the best season [he has] ever played". In his last ten games, he has scored four goals and assisted nine. In total, he has made twelve assists this season and created 63 goalscoring chances, the most out of anyone in the top five leagues.
