New sleeve patch for defending champions Bayern

A new season in the DFB Cup and a look for the record cup champions! As the title-holders, FC Bayern München will be the first side to wear a new sleeve patch for defending champions rather than the traditional one during their DFB Cup matches this term. The new-look patch will be introduced on the right sleeve of Bayern’s kits to signify their title triumph in the 2015/16 campaign. The new logo, measuring 85.995x111.6mm, was presented by World Champion and FCB captain Philipp Lahm.

The patch will make its debut on Friday night as Carlo Ancelotti’s side take on Regionalliga outfit Carl Zeiss Jena in the first round (20:45 CEST). Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund 4-3 on penalties in last year’s final, with the scores still locked at 0-0 after 120 minutes. It was their 18th cup win in total.

The first round proper of the 2016/17 DFB Cup takes place from Friday to Monday.
