Germany's national team and an all-star Bundesliga international side drew 2-2 (2-1) in a benefit match to raise money for the Asian tsunami relief effort on Tuesday. 51.904 spectators watched the game which took place in the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen.
Bernd Schneider (26.) and Gerald Asamoah (30.) scored for Germany, Roy Makaay (28.) and Marek Mintal (50.) for the international team.
The German FA also pledged 1.5 million euros in emergency aid to be used in consultation with the government. A similar game in 2002 at the same venue raised 3.5 million euros after floods damaged parts of Germany.
