Mustafi wins with Arsenal against West Brom

Arsenal and world champion Shkodran Mustafi continued their good form in the Premier League. In the final game of matchday six, the Gunners moved onto 10 points and into seventh place with a 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. Mesut Özil, who had missed the last three Arsenal matches, came on in place of Alexis Sanchez in the 83rd minute whilst Mustafi played the whole game at centre-back.

Alexander Lacazette, the French international striker, scored a header in the first half to put Arsene Wenger’s team into the lead and scored from the penalty spot in the 67th minute. The new signing from Olympique Lyonnais has now scored in every home game for Arsenal so far. Meanwhile, on the opposing side, Gareth Barry made his 633rd Premier League appearance and in doing so set the record for the most appearances in the Premier League. The 36-year-old surpassed the record set by former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs.
