Joachim Löw and Die Mannschaft players give their reaction to Monday’s big win over Norway in Stuttgart, a result which puts the reigning world champions on the brink of qualification to next summer’s tournament.
Joachim Löw: It was the first home game for us in a while, and you could tell the crowd was pumped to see the team again. We combined well and the goals we scored made the mood in the stadium even better. We said after the Czech game that we wanted to have a different spirit in the team. We came on leaps and bounds tonight and when you play like that you are going to create a lot of chances. We wanted more shots on goal tonight, that was our goal and it was a pleasure to watch the boys out there.
Timo Werner: We lined up very differently today and went at it from the first minute. We didn’t stop when we went 1-0 up and I’m really happy that I’m scoring regularly for the national team as it’s always a special feeling in front of our fans. I have to thank the fans who have supported me from the off and help me be the best I can be on the pitch.
Thomas Müller: We analysed the game against Czech Republic and were very well prepared for today’s tie. It’s remarkable how much better we were today but it helped that Norway were unable to defend as well as Czech Republic.
Joshua Kimmich: The atmosphere today was incredible and our performance was as a result of such great support. It was a great night for all involved.
