League Cup: Berlin wins final against Schalke

Hertha BSC Berlin has won the final of the German League Cup. In Bochum Hertha beat German Cup Winner FC Schalke 04 4-1 (2-0). The first three goals fpr Hertha were scored by Brazilian strikers. Marcelinho hit the net after 32 minutes. One minute later Alex Alves scored for Berlin. Victor Agali kicked the only goal for Schalke (61.). It was Marcelinho again, who hit the penalty kick. Roberto Pinto led his team to a 4-1 victory.

In Jena the League-cup Hertha holder had won the semifinal against Champion Borussia Dortmund 2-1 (1-0). Alex Alves scored both goals (25. and 67.) for Berlin, Lars Ricken (71.) scored by penalty for Dortmund.
