Lahm back up and running

Philipp Lahm has started light running exercises on Monday. The Bayern München skipper fractured his ankle three months ago. While his teammates were in their final training session before Bayern’s trip to Shakhtar Donetsk for the Champions League round of 16, the 31-year-old did laps for 30 minutes. Later he continued his rehabilitation programme in the gym.

The injury occurred without any outside influence during training in November. The fracture was stabilised with a plate ad several screws. It will be three weeks until Lahm can rejoin team training. His expected return to the pitch is scheduled for late March.
