Julian Draxler has to cancel trip to Berlin

World Champion Julian Draxler will not travel to Berlin today and will therefore miss both the ceremony for the Silver Laurel Leaf and the première of the film about Germany’s World Cup triumph, “Die Mannschaft”. “I’m really sorry because both will be great experiences,” said the 21-year-old. “I would love to be going to Berlin.”

The attacking midfielder from FC Schalke 04 picked up an injury to his semimembranosus muscle in his right ankle in their 1-0 win over FC Augsburg on 31st October and had a successful operation on 4th November. In order for him to not put his healing process at risk, it’s now been decided that Julian Draxler will continue his rehabilitation programme without a break.
