Jerome Boateng: The Bundesliga’s “Mr. Unbeatable”

Does Jerome Boateng even remember what it feels like to lose in the Bundesliga? Bayern München’s 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday was the World Champion’s 50th successive top-flight game without defeat. The 26-year-old is now the outright “Mr. Unbeatable” in the Bundesliga.

Boateng was a key figure once again during the recent match in Frankfurt, with the Germany international cutting a commanding and composed figure in the Bayern defence – it’s been a while since we’ve seen one of his once notorious lapses. The last time Boateng left the pitch defeated in the Bundesliga was on 28th October 2012, when FCB lost 2-1 against Bayer Leverkusen.

It’s not like Bayern haven’t lost since then though, but Boateng has had some luck during his record run: The defender wasn’t in the squad for the double-winners’ last two defeats, against Augsburg (1-0) and Dortmund (3-0) towards the end of last season.
