Huth and Leicester made to wait

Manchester United prevented Leicester City from claiming the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford. The sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw. Robert Huth’s men went 1-0 down when Anthony Martial opened the scoring after eight minutes, however, Wes Morgan equalised for the Foxes soon after (17’). Bastian Schweinsteiger wasn’t in the Reds Devils’ squad.

Leicester could be crowned champions tomorrow. If Tottenham Hotspur drop points against Chelsea (21:00 CEST) then the trophy will be heading to the East Midlands. United, on the other hand, remain fifth in the table.

Liverpool lose in Swansea

Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool side were beaten 3-1 by Swansea City on Sunday afternoon. Klopp made a number of changes to his starting XI for the game, with Thursday’s Europa League game against Villarreal on the horizon. Germany’s Emre Can was unavailable through injury.

Goals from André Ayew (20’) and Jack Cork (33’) gave the Welsh side a 2-0 lead at the break. Christian Benteke (65’) got one back for the Reds, however, Ayew restored the two-goal advantage with his second of the game.

Juventus win without Khedira

World Cup winner Sami Khedira was an unused substitute as Juventus brushed past FC Carpi on Sunday. The Turin side’s goals were scored by Hernanes (43’) and Simone Zaza (80’). They have won 28 of their 36 league games this season.
