Hummels: "We haven't redeemed ourselves yet"

Important sport, important sportsmen, important words. DFB.de brings you the reaction from Germany internationals after matchday 14 in the Bundesliga. Here is what Mats Hummels, Christoph Kramer, Thomas Müller and Ron-Robert Zieler had to say after their games at the weekend.

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 1899 Hoffenheim

Mats Hummels: We haven’t redeemed ourselves yet – we still have a way to go. It was still really important to put in a good performance today though. The support was fantastic; our fans are something else. Captain Sebastian Kehl delivered a great pre-game speech to us - he has a talent for that. I think you could see that everyone wanted to dig deep and fight our way out of this today and in the week.

Kevin Großkreutz: The team, the town and the fans all earned this today. It’s simply incredible to have this relationship. We put into practice everything that we prepared. Fight, passion, heart – it was there for all to see. Kehl’s speech got us up for it and we went on to the pitch truly as one.

Bayern München 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Thomas Müller: We found it hard to get into the game in the first half. We created chances after Franck’s goal though, meaning it was a deserved win and we can enjoy the second Sunday of Advent off with our families.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-2 Hertha BSC

Christoph Kramer: It was a well-earned win and a good game for us in which we simply missed the chance to finish the game off earlier. At half time we could have been leading 2-0 but instead conceded an unnecessary equaliser. However, after the break we did well to push further into their half, play faster attacking football and showed a very good reaction. The three points were enormously important and are something that we can build on.

Hannover 96 1-3 VfL Wolfsburg

Ron-Robert Zieler: The team played well at times today and we had a few good chances. It would have been good if we’d scored to make it 2-1 – then it would have been a lot different. We gave away both of the goals too easily at an important stage of the game. I felt that Wolfsburg were left on their own in front of goal on three occasions. Their opener after just four minutes was very annoying too. We make life hard for ourselves. We have to be more stable again and be more effective up front as we were in Hoffenheim with the goals. We have to work on that from now.
