First home victory since eight months for Hamburger SV: The team of coach Thorsten Fink celebrated a 2-0 (1-0)-victory against 1899 Hoffenheim. The goal scorers Paolo Guerrero (25.) and Marcell Jansen (65.) arranged for the clearance of HSV. VfB Stuttgart won in the second game on Sunday against promoted FC Augsburg 2-1 (1-0). Stuttgart's Martin Harnik (41./51.) made the victory with two goals perfect.

Borussia Dortmund cut the lead to leader Bayern München to two points, by winning the top match of round 13 in der Bundesliga 1-0 (0-0). Mario Götze scored the deciding goal for the reigning champions. Mönchengladbach stays in the hunt, after rolling over Werder Bremen 5-0 (3-0).

One week before the important derby, FC Schalke 04 looks to be in good shape. Thanks to two goals of Huntelaar, Raúl and Holtby, they defeated Nürnberg 4-0 (2-0). Wolfsburg got an important win (4-1) over Hannover and Freiburg came back from two goals down to rescue a point in a 2-2 (0-2)-tie against Hertha BSC Berlin.

Bayer Leverkusen opened round 13 of German Bundesliga with a 2-0 win at 1. FC Kaiserslautern on friday. Form Kaiserslautern players Michael Ballack and Sidney Sam scored at the Betzenberg.
