Great start for Germany at the Algarve Cup

The German Women's National Team started off with a comfortable win to the 2010 Algarve Cup. The team of coach Silvia Neid beat Denmark 4-0 (1-0).

In the first half Melanie Behringer, who converted nice assists by Lena Gößling and Anja Mittag (36.), gave Germany the lead.

After the break Birgit Prinz put Germany, who were dominating throughout the whole match, 2-0 ahead (56.). It was the striker's 126th goal while wearing the German jersey. Only two minutes later her partner up front, Inka Grings, made it three for Germany. In the 82nd minute it was again Grings, who scored her second goal of the day and assured Germany the 4-0-win.

In their second group match the German women face Finland on Friday (6 pm).
