Reaction to the draw

Borussia Mönchengladbach - Sevilla

André Hahn (Borussia Mönchengladbach): It’s obviously going to be difficult. Sevilla won the trophy last year but we will do all we can to qualify for the next round.

Alvaro Dominguez (Borussia Mönchengladbach): It’s a tough draw. In my opinion Seville are the strongest team left in the competition. They have good players and have experience in the competition. It’s difficult to win there. They are aggressive. Their football may not be as attractive as Villarreal’s but they are efficient. They are one of the best three or four sides in Spain.

VfL Wolfsburg - Sporting Lisbon

Klaus Allofs (VfL Wolfsburg sporting director): We can progress but Sporting are a team who are always there or thereabouts. They are hugely experienced. We’ve played well so far this season and continue to develop. We hope to qualify for the next round. Unfortunately Josuha Guilavogui and Luiz Gustavo are banned for the home game. I don’t want to speak about the idea of favourites. Nani is a world class player, but there are reasons why he doesn’t play for Manchester United currently. He can make the difference on a good day.

Dieter Hecking (VfL Wolfsburg manager): Ahead of the draw I said that I would like to face Sporting because it is a nice journey for the fans; Lisbon is a great city. It’s an attractive draw and we certainly have a chance to reach the next round.

Diego Benaglio (VfL Wolfsburg captain): Sporting have a good team – players like Nani show just how good they are. It will be a difficult tie for us.

Ivica Olic (VfL Wolfsburg striker): We’re facing a team who were knocked out of the Champions League. They are strong offensively. It won’t be easy but we hope to qualify for the next round.
