Germany thrash Finland 7-0 at Algarve Cup

Germany's Women Team proved to be in form once again at the Algarve Cup in Portugal, when they thrashed Finland 7-0 (1-0) in their second Group match. Before, they had already proven to be too strong for Denmark (4-0).

Inka Grings was on target three times (34., 65., 70.) and newcomer Alexandra Popp netted two more goals in her third cap (61., 66.) to make it 5-0. Substitutes Fatmire Bajramaj (77.) and Nadine Keßler, scoring her first international goal on her debut in the 84th minute added two more.

A draw on Monday (6.00 pm) in their final encounter against China, who won their second match against Denmark 2-0 and are second in the table with four points, would secure the German women a place in the final.
