Germany lose a.e.t. to U.S. in the semi-finals

World champions Germany lost 1-2 (1-1, 0-1) after extra time against the U.S. team in the semi-finals of the Olympic women's soccer tournament on Monday.

Kristine Lilly scored the first goal after 33 minutes. Substitute Isabell Bachor levelled the game in the dying seconds for Germany. But Heather O'Reilly put the U.S. in front again after 99 minutes to reach the Olympic final. [js]
