Hrubesch’s men went in front in first-half injury time when Brandt’s cross was gleefully tucked home by man of the moment Serge Gnabry.

Goals flow after the break

Germany continued to press after the break and Matthias Ginter doubled the lead with a classy header in the 57th minute. Davie Selke, who impressed as the lone striker, deservedly netted with 15 to play, with Augsburg’s Philip Max wrapping up the scoring shortly before the final whistle.
