Galatasaray stumble in race for Europe

Galatasaray missed the chance to clinch potentially valuable points in the race for European football. With three matches left in the Turkish Süper Lig, World Champions Lukas Podolski and his teammates could only manage a 1-1 draw against tenth placed Bursaspor.

Currently sixth in the league with 45 points, Gala are four points off a fourth place spot that would see them qualify for the Europa League. They will now need to hope their league rivals also drop points to keep their slim hopes alive.

Tomas Sivok (35‘) put the hosts in front, before Olcan Adin (50’) equalised for the Istanbul side a few minutes after the break. Podolski played the full 90 minutes.
