Freiburg reach the Women's DFB Cup quarterfinals

SC Freiburg have booked their place in the quarterfinals of the Women’s DFB Cup. The Allianz Women’s Bundesliga side recorded a comfortable 6-0 win against Second Division South outfit 1. FFC Niederkirchen.

Sandra Starke put SCF ahead in the 13th minute, with Juliane Maier and Manjou Wilde adding a second and a third goal before the break. Freiburg’s dominance carried on in the second half, with Clara Schöne’s strike and a Hasret Kayikci brace completing the half dozen.

Title-favourites in the form of Bayern München (in Jena), VfL Wolfsburg (against Cloppenburg), Turbine Potsdam (against Herford) and 1. FFC Frankfurt (in Leverkusen) all have the chance to join Freiburg in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

The draw for the Women’s DFB Cup last eight will be made by former World and European Champion Silke Rottenberg on Saturday, 8th November.
