European U21 Championship: Details confirmed

Supporters can plan their trips to the tournament in detail now: On Tuesday UEFA confirmed the locations and kick-off times for the 2015 European U21 Championship, which will be held in the Czech Republic (17th-30th June 2015).

Horst Hrubesch’s team begin their campaign on Wednesday, 17th June against Serbia (20:45 CEST) in the Letná Stadium (Generali Arena) in Prague. Germany’s second game takes place three days later against Denmark (Saturday, 20th June, 20:45 CEST) in the Eden Arena, also in Prague. Three days later they return to the Eden Arena to face the Czech Republic (20:45 CEST).

Should Germany finish top of their group, they will face the team who came second in Group B (Italy, Sweden, England, Portugal) in the Letná Stadium on Saturday, 27th June (21:00 CEST). If they were to come second, they would face the Group B winners on the same day in the Ander Stadium in Olomouc at 18:00 CEST.

The final will take place in the Eden Arena, which holds 21,000 spectators, 30th June (20:45 CEST). The teams which qualify for the semi-finals also qualify for the football tournament at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. England are unable to play in the Olympics, due to the fact they compete in the Games under the umbrella term Great Britain. With this in mind, if England reach the semi-finals a play-off between the two sides that finish third in their groups for the right to play in the tournament will take place on 28th June at 18:00 CEST at the City Stadium (Uherské Hradiště).
