Draw made tomorrow for EURO 2015 in the Czech Republic

The qualifying round for the European Championships from 17th to 30th June 2015 in the Czech Republic is over, and now Germany’s under-21’s will wait with anticipation ahead of the draw on Thursday (18:00 CET).

DFB manager Horst Hrubesch has “no concerns” ahead of the draw in Prague and sees his team as one of the favourites. Dream opponents? There’s no-one: “we take it how it comes.” DFB.de has all the information you need to know about the draw.

Who has qualified? The Czech Republic qualified automatically for the draw as hosts. As well as the DFB-Team (2-0 and 3-0 wins against Ukraine), Italy (3-1 and 1-1 against Slovakia), England (2-1 and 2-1 against Croatia), Portugal (5-4 and 2-0 against the Netherlands), Serbia (2-1 and 0-0 against Spain), Denmark (1-1 and 0-0 against Iceland) and Sweden (4-1 win and 2-0 loss against France) have all booked their ticket for UEFA’s second biggest European tournament via the play-offs.

When and where will the tournament be held? The tournament will be held from 17th to 30th June 2015 in Olomouc, Uherské and Hradiste.

How will the teams be drawn? The eight teams will be split into two groups. Hosts Czech Republic and England, who are the best ranked team according to UEFA rankings, will be in different groups. Germany and Italy can also not be drawn in the same group as they are ranked second and third respectively.

Who’ll be at the draw? Making the draw will be ex-Czech Republic international Pavel Nedvěd, who will act as tournament ambassador at the finals. A DFB delegation, including Horst Hrubesch, will attend the draw.

Who qualifies for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro? Four of the eight teams at the European Championships will qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. England cannot qualify because they are represented at the Olympics under Great Britain. If England qualify for the semi-finals, then a game will be played between the two third placed teams on 27th July in Prague. No Germany team has qualified for the Olympics since 1988, when the DFB-Team, including Jürgen Klinsmann, who would later go on to become a World Champion and Germany manager, won bronze in Seoul.
