The draw for the last 16 has been made. The opponents of the two Bundesliga teams left in the Europa League are confirmed. At the event in Nyon, Borussia Dortmund were drawn against Premier League title contenders Tottenham Hotspur, with the away leg taking place in North London. Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, will play the first leg away to La Liga’s Villarreal. Tottenham Hotspur beat Fiorentina over the two Round of 32 legs, while Villarreal got the better of Napoli.
Shkodran Mustafi’s Valencia will come up against league rivals Athletic Bilbao. Liverpool, with Emre Can and manager Jürgen Klopp will face arch-rivals Manchester United and Bastian Schweinsteiger. World Cup winner Miroslav Klose’s Lazio take on Sparta Prague.
The Europa League last 16 fixtures will be played on the 10th and 17th March 2016, the draw for the quarterfinals will follow the next day on the 18th. The final is scheduled for the 18th May 2016 in the St. Jakob Park in Basel.
