Christian Seifert will continue his role at the head of The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), continuing the development of German professional footballers in the years to come. The DFL supervisory board have agreed a five year contract extension with the incumbent chief executive, taking his deal until the 30th June 2022.
”This is great news for German football,” explained DFL chairman of the board, Dr. Reinhard Rauball. “Christian Seifert has performed extremely well in the last eleven years and has made a significant contribution to the overall success of the league. With many challenges on the horizon, the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs can continue to count on successful cooperation.”
Christian Seifert had this to say: “I am really pleased to see the trust that the board have placed in me to carry out the upcoming challenges. Together with the clubs, the committees and the DFL team, it is imperative that we advance German football competition with a sold economical basis and increase the popularity in all areas of society.
