DFB delegation visits "Cidade da criança"

Overwhelming hospitality, the shining eyes of children and many pictures and selfies - a DFB delegation consisting of vice presidents Ronny Zimmermann and Peter Frymuth visited the "Cidade da criança" (translation: "City of children") in Salvador this weekend.

The welcome was extremely warm-hearted. As the delegation arrived, a band was playing in the background accompanied by dancers and singers. After the official welcome by President Ivonita Alves, the German visitors were taken on a tour through the "Cidade da criança". The charitable project offers theatre, music, acting and computer courses for children, youths and women. Furthermore, the institution has a shop and grows vegetables.

Cheque presentation after joyful kick-about

The children were joined by delegation member Joti Chatzialexiou on the pitch for a joyful kick-about and took plenty of pictures and selfies with the DFB officials. After the tour finished, the delegation handed over a cheque worth 10,000 Euros, adidas footballs, DFB shirts and further presents.

Delegation leader Ronny Zimmermann was very pleased with their visit: "I can't find the right words. It's simply great to see what has been established in this region for the children and women. This institution simply deserves to be supported. This was the best day we've had in Brazil so far." Peter Frymuth could only agree. "This project fascinated us two years ago," explained the DFB vice president. "It was once again great to see what measures are taken here to provide the children and youths options and to prepare them for their profession. In order to once again offer our thanks for the Brazilian hospitality, it's important that the DFB supports this project."
