DFB Consulting & Sales Services analyses IT systems

On behalf of UEFA, DFB Consulting & Sales Services has conducted an IT analysis in 18 countries together with DFB-Medien, the IT subsidiary of the German Football Association.

The aim of the project was to document the IT systems and organizational processes in the countries concerned and provide UEFA with information on the as-is status. In workshops with the national associations; all football management processes such as player registration, player transfers, match organization, referee appointment or coach education have been analyzed and reported. One of the key items on the agenda was reviewing the existing Football Management Systems (FMS) and documenting the associations’ needs in this area. Modern FMS allow the associations to manage all tasks in a central database and integrate all football processes and support them electronically.

By analysing their IT systems and solutions, DFB Consulting was able to show the associations involved where there is potential for further development. The results of these workshops are a foundation for UEFA to support the associations specifically.

"The IT analysis was an important project for us to document the current IT systems and standards of our member associations. It helps us to get a feeling for different solutions and FMS systems and it is a fundamental key to support the associations and serve their needs", says Marc Esselink, Head of the Top Executive Programme of UEFA.
