DFB and French Federation FFF intensify their relations

The German and French Football Federations, DFB and FFF, have agreed to intensify their bilateral relations. Jean Piere Escalettes and Dr. Theo Zwanziger, the Presidents of the two associations, will sign the Communiqué on Thursday, 25 October 2007, as part of the DFB Congress. 258 delegates from the DFB regional associations and many national and international guests of honor will witness the 39th biannual DFB Congress in the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz.

In the document’s preamble, it says: “True to our mutual belief, that we share many common interests and pursue the same goals in European football, and as a written document of our close friendship, the Deutsche Fußball-Bund (DFB) and the Fédération Francaise de Football (FFF) will intensify their relations.”

The Communiqué encompasses ten articles. Both associations manifest their intention to play more games against each other, be it with their first men’s or women’s teams or in the youth and juniors classes. The DFB and FFF coaching staffs will meet for a workshop at the technical center Fernand Sastre in Clairefontaine in 2008. A similar regular meeting will be developed for the top-level referees of both associations.

Zwanziger and Escalettes will arrange for an annual summit of the two associations, to have a forum to discuss topical and long-term issues of their cooperation.
