Decision for Under 17 Bundesliga taken

The extraordinary Bundestag of the German Football Association (DFB) has decided to introduce a three-division Under 17 Bundesliga starting in the 2007/2008 season.

Parallel to the already existing Under 19 Bundesliga there will be regional divisions comprising North/Northeast, West and South/Southwest with 14 teams each, splitted into seven teams of the Northern and Northeastern Regional associations each, three from the Southwest, and eleven from the Southern Regional association. The Western Region will be represented by 14 teams.

Three teams of each division will relegate at the end of the season.
