Cup success: Ter Stegen, Khedira and Trapp all win

Marc-André ter Stegen and Barcelona are in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey. In the second leg of their tie against Athletic Bilbao in the Nou Camp, they triumphed 3-1, making it an aggregate score of 5-2 after the first leg in Bilbao. Ter Stegen put in a good performance, making a series of good saves over the two legs.

Barca needed a bit of time to get going. In the second half, Lionel Messi assisted Luis Suarez, who grabbed the equalising goal on the night. Had Bilbao regained the lead, the game would have gone to extra time, and the scores were level until the 82nd minute. Gerald Pique and Neymar put the game to bed late on, and Barcelona are looking good to claim the trophy.

Juventus with one foot in the final

Juventus can’t stop winning at the moment. In the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, they put three past Inter Milan, giving themselves a huge advantage going into the return leg (3-0) on the 2nd March. Sami Khedira watched the match from the stands after Allegri had decided the rest the German midfielder, so that he is fresh for the upcoming league matches.

The star of the night was Alvaro Morata, who scored both of the first two goals. Dybala scored shortly after being brought on in the 83rd minute to put the game to bed. The team have now recorded 14 wins from their last 14 matches in the cup and league.

Trapp and Paris Saint Germain into the final

Kevin Trapp is one step further than Sami Khedira. Paris St. Germain booked their place in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue after a 2-0 win over FC Tolouse. Goalkeeper Trapp was also rested, and watched the match from the bench.
