Germany international Emre Can featured for Liverpool FC last night in their 1-0 loss to Southampton FC. Liverpool now need a win in the second leg on 25th January in order to qualify for the final of the league cup. Nathan Redmond scored the only goal of the game in the 20th minute. Emre Can played the full 90 minutes for Liverpool.
Sami Khedira didn’t feature for Juventus last night as they qualified for the quarter-final of the Coppa Italia, winning 3-2 against league rivals Atalanta Bergamo. They will face either AC Milan or FC Turin in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Paulo Dybala (22’), Mario Mandzukic (34’) and Miralem Pjanic (76’) scored for Juventus. Abdoulay Konko (72’) and Emmanuel Latte Lath (81’) got goals back for Atalanta Bergamo towards the end of the game. Sami Khedira was an unused substitute.
Marc-André ter Stegen was an unused substitute in Barcelona’s 3-1 win against Athletico Bilbao in the last 16 second leg of the Copa Del Rey. Luis Suarez (35’), Neymar (48’) and Lionel Messi (78’) scored to secure a place in the quarter-final. Bilbao won the first leg 2-1 at home.
